pnpm install --frozen-lockfile installs dependencies only. It does not build or connect this server. Follow the upstream sequence below.

1. Prepare Node.js 22+, pnpm 9 and Kdenlive with MLT, or separate melt, ffmpeg and ffprobe executables. Upstream documents Windows x64 and Linux x64; other architectures are not release-tested.

2. Clone the reviewed revision, then use the installer for your operating system. The scripts install dependencies and build/package the server. Linux is shown below; the source guide also covers PowerShell and release archives.

3. Run the installed launcher with --doctor and resolve its reported failures. Use the installed path printed by the installer. A successful dependency install alone is insufficient.

4. Configure your client's stdio command with the absolute path to that launcher, an absolute media root and a stable client ID. Replace the example paths below with your own. Restart or reconnect the client and inspect its connection result.
