Close a session and release resources
How to use it
ssh_close_session is exposed by the MCP Remote Ssh MCP server. Add the server to your MCP client (Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf and others), and the ssh_close_session tool becomes available to the model automatically. See the full listing for setup details and every tool this server provides.

Clear redaction registry (values become visible again)
Close a tunnel
Connect with password, key, or agent auth. Optional record=True to start a transcript immediately. Returns sessionid
Download remote file to local machine
Run a command, returns {stdout, stderr, exitcode}
Create SSH tunnel (local -> remote)
Return the transcript as text or JSONL (lastn optional)
List active tunnels
List directory with metadata
List active sessions
Load secrets from a local env file; values never returned to the LLM
Read a remote text file
Write the transcript to a local file on the MCP host
Open persistent shell (preserves cwd, env, processes)
Read current output buffer
Send text (with optional Enter)
Send Ctrl+C, Ctrl+D, etc.
Wait for a pattern or output to stabilize
Start recording execute/sudo/shell I/O for this session
Stop recording; transcript stays available until the session is closed
Run with sudo elevation
Upload local file to remote host
Write/append to a remote file
